The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw from Amsterdam is one of the absolute top big bands in Europe. With a strong vision and respect for music in all its forms, a world class rhythm section and horn sections. The great Hammond player Dr. Lonnie Smith on working with the orchestra: “They play with you. And they are strong. Very strong."
We have worked and regularly work with world-class guest soloists, including Gregory Porter, Joshua Redman, José James, Kurt Elling, Chick Corea, Branford Marsalis, Oleta Adams, Madeline Peyroux, Benny Golson, Christian Scott, Roy Hargrove, Patti Austin, Georgie Fame and many others.
Internationally, the JOC is highly regarded, and has performed all over the world at the biggest festivals and in the finest jazz clubs: from Birdland New York to North Sea Jazz Capetown, from Tokyo to Moscow and from Rio to Budapest.
The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw bears the name of the famous Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the only concert hall in the world to have a jazz orchestra to its name in addition to a classical orchestra.
