Tussen 1996 en 2014 speelde het Jazz Orchestra maandelijks in het Bimhuis: elke maand nieuwe muziek voor een gretig publiek. Jazzism is een selectie van live radio opnames door de NTR van deze bijzondere concerten van het Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw.
Daar, in het Bimhuis aan de Oudeschans en later de Piet Heinkade, ontwikkelde het Jazz Orchestra zich van een groep gedreven musici tot een orkest dat inmiddels op vele grote podia in binnen- en buitenland te beluisteren is.
Jazzism (2010) bestaat uit live en uncut radio-opnames, die een indruk geven van de werkwijze van het orkest: gericht op de muzikale ontmoeting, swing, energie en improvisatie met de individuele kwaliteiten van de bandleden en als uitgangspunt.

There, in the Bimhuis at the Oudeschans and later at the Piet Heinkade, the Jazz Orchestra developed from a group of passionate musicians to an orchestra that can now be heard on many major venues in the Netherlands and abroad.
Jazzism (2010) consists of live and uncut radio recordings, which give an impression of the orchestra’s way of working: aimed at the musical encounter, swing, energy and improvisation with the individual qualities of the band members and as a starting point.
