Dutch Jazz Heritage: Misha Mengelberg

During the Dutch Jazz Heritage series, the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw will put the spotlight on legendary (Dutch) jazz moments and jazz artists, in collaboration with the Dutch Jazz Archive. In 2025, it will be 90 years since one of the most important innovators of Dutch jazz was born: Misha Mengelberg. In this concert, the orchestra will delve into the work of this pianist and composer. With the Instant Composers Pool, Mengelberg, together with saxophonist Willem Breuker and drummer Han Bennink, played a decisive role in Dutch improvised music.
