Together with five leading Amsterdam venues -the Concertgebouw, BIMHUIS, Paradiso, Meervaart and Conservatorium van Amsterdam- the JOC organises the new Big Sounds Amsterdam festival, putting large ensemble in the spotlight. Because big sound is something special for musicians and listeners alike!
Major bands and orchestras from all over the world, open to adventure, improvisation and ideas, will be hitting the stage. In this heyday for large ensembles, this bi-annual festival presents the latest international developments. Big Sounds is for everyone, for fans of all genres. Large ensembles bring together many different kinds of people, both on stage and in the audience.
Big Sounds started with a pilot, celebrating this diversity, and is now heading for a full blown edition in 2025.
