Privacy
When you visit our website, we collect different personal data for different purposes. The following explains what data we collect, for what purposes, how we obtain the data, what your rights are and how you can exercise them. We respect your privacy and ensure that all your personal data is treated confidentially. The issues below also stem from the regulations surrounding the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG), which replaces the Dutch Personal Data Protection Act as of May 25, 2018.
Personal Data and Purposes of Data Processing
In order to provide you with a good and personalized service, we need some data from you. When you register with us, your name and (e-mail) address, among others, are stored. The data comes directly to us and is also stored on the mail server of our hosting party. We transfer this data to third parties in some cases in a controlled way, but we only use it for services you have specifically requested, i.e. when you place an order with us or when you change your data.
We do not use so-called Special Personal Data. Our website does not intend to collect data on website visitors who are under 16 years of age unless they have parental or guardian consent. However, we cannot verify whether a visitor is older than 16. Therefore, we encourage parents to be involved in their children's online activities in order to avoid collecting data about children without parental consent. If you are convinced that we have collected personal data about a minor without such consent, please contact us via email and we will delete this information.
We do not make decisions about matters that could (significantly) affect individuals based on automated processing.
We process three types of data: identity, payment and traffic data.
Identity data
We process identity data for administrative and commercial purposes, such as processing your order (administrative), delivery of your order to your chosen delivery address (administrative), possibly being able to make, possibly personalized, offers and promotions or providing information or newsletters relevant to you (commercial).
Below is an overview of the identity data we process:
- First and last name
- Address data
- Phone number
- Date of birth
- Bank account number
- E-mail address
- IP address
We use the order details to process your order and deliver the package to you as quickly as possible. Your e-mail address can come in handy when, for example, something is wrong with your package. The e-mail address you enter here is not used for marketing purposes.
When you register for the newsletter, your e-mail address may be used for marketing purposes, but only for our company. If you wish to unsubscribe from the newsletter, you can always do so via a link in the newsletter. Your information will not be provided to third parties for commercial purposes.
Payment data
We process payment data for administrative purposes such as payment for your order. When recording payment data, we only note your payment method. Of course, bank details are not stored and every payment option is secure.
Traffic data
With traffic data you can think of registering an IP address, installing a cookie, registering click behavior and analyzing your navigation on our website. With traffic data, we analyze the browsing behavior of our visitors. We look at how the navigation is used, which pages are visited and which items are ordered so that we can use this to improve the awareness, functionality and content of our site (and digital newsletters).
Our website uses cookies. A cookie is a small file sent with the pages of our website and stored by your browser on your hard drive of your computer. The information stored therein can be sent back to our servers during your next visit. Cookies may also be used through third parties engaged by us.
When you visit our website for the first time, or on repeated visits after cookies have been deleted by you, a message will be displayed (cookie agreement statement or cookie consent) informing you about the cookies we use. The moment you continue to click on our website, you give us permission to use all cookies and plug-ins, depending on the settings chosen, as described in the cookie agreement statement and this privacy statement. You are free to disable cookies via your browser. Please note, however, that our website may then no longer work optimally.
We have no control over what the providers of the above applications themselves do with cookies. For more information about these applications and how they handle cookies, please see the privacy statements of these parties (note that these may change regularly).
If you give us permission through the cookie settings, cookies from the following applications are used:
- Google Analytics
Retention period
Your data will be kept by us for a longer period of time, but never longer than is necessary for carrying out activities, unless we have to keep your data for longer under a legal regulation. In principle, your data will be stored until you take action yourself.
Processors who receive your data
The personal data we receive is also processed by and stored on the servers of the companies listed below:
- Totaaldomein and Neostrada (hosting website and email).
- Mailchimp (newsletter)
- Google (analytical user data)
In the necessary cases, processing agreements have been established for this purpose. In the case of Mailchimp and Google this may mean that your data will be stored outside the EU. Both parties are certified for this via the EU-US Privacy Shield.
Rights
You have the right to access, the right to rectification, the right to file a complaint through the Personal Data Authority, the right to transfer and the right to stop using data. For this purpose, you can contact us via e-mail or by telephone. Exercising these rights can only be done via e-mail. To ensure that the request for inspection is made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your proof of identity with the request. In this copy, black out your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip of numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and Citizen Service Number (BSN). This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, but within four weeks. We would also like to point out that you have the possibility to file a complaint with the Personal Data Authority.
Security
No physical copies of your personal data will be made. Your data is managed only in the aforementioned systems and software of us and the aforementioned processors. The devices we use to access your data are each themselves also secured with security software, a password and/or fingerprint. The number of devices that can access your data is limited to only those required.
Our ordering process, contact forms and online payment options are secure. The pages are protected with a secure SSL connection, which means your data is sent encrypted and makes it impossible for third parties to see your (credit card) information. You can check the security by pressing your right mouse button on the relevant page and choosing 'Properties'. You will now get a window with the connection details. At 'Connection' it will say that it is an SSL connection. Your credit card information, such as the number and expiration date, is obviously not stored. We provide your data only to the company that facilitates payment transactions. In addition, we do not provide your data to third parties, except to the extent required by laws and regulations. The data will only be used for the purposes described in this privacy statement.
Data breaches involving the personal data at risk will, if possible within 72 hours, be reported to the Personal Data Authority. If this is not possible, an explanation will be given for the delay. Both the nature of the breach and recommendations on how to limit possible negative consequences must be reported to the data subject(s) and to the Personal Data Authority. The obligation to report does not apply if the breach is unlikely to pose a high risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons.
