Big Band Academy 2026

Jazz students from all over the Netherlands have worked intensively with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw to perfect their big band playing.

During the JOC Big Band Academy the students dove into the compositions and arrangement of composer Miho Hazama, one of the most promising and talented composers/arrangers of her generation. She was lauded in Downbeat as one of “25 for the Future” and has a lot of experience of working with Big Bands as the chief conductor of Danish Radio Big Band and worked with Metropole Orkest, WDR Big Band.
